This superb carving, mounted on a custom stand, has leather, beads, hair and cowrie shell attachments. Fetish statues were kept at the house of a diviner and when a villager wanted something, he or she would offer the statue a sacrifice. The Minianka's art style was influenced by the Bambara people.
