This type of mask represents the spirit of a young woman and originates from the heart of Ibo (or Igbo) country. They are worn by young men during harvest celebrations and annual ceremonies in honor of the earth spirit. The masqueraders also wear colorful, close-fitting costumes with false breasts, and mimic women's activities.
