African Fine Arts - AFRICAN-ART

I originally thought this was an old colonial figure until I spotted a similar carving in the 11.19.1999 Sotheby's catalogue with an estimated auction value of $10 000 to $15 000. This figure is wearing a brimmed hat and European dress with both hands in the pockets of a safari style jacket. It has diminutive features with almond shaped eyes, a brown patina and traces of pigment.
